BIBLE FOCUS: A Bride for Isaac

Genesis 24

Faith Point: "When we follow God's call, we are blessed.

Psalm 143:10 CEV: "You are my God. Show me what you want me to do".

The story of Isaac and Rebkah is one of divine guidance.  Abraham sends his servant on a mission: Find a wife for Isaac. It is such an important mission that Abraham requires that servant take a pledge to do as Abraham instructs. The servant begins his quest by praying-seeking God's guidance. This done, the servant leaves himself open for God to work. And the story goes on from there.

Like the servant, we have to teach the children to leave themselves open to God's guidance. Sometimes God gives us a gentle nudge. Sometimes it is a powerful kick. Sometimes it is just the feeling that we are doing the right thing. The important part is learning to listen. This is an important lesson to teach our children to preare them for the difficult choices life will require of them. Just listen for God's leading.

For children from age 3 years to grade 6.

  • Children visit a different learning "station" each week, allowing them to learn on three levels.
  • Stations featured are the video station, storytelling station, art station, and cookery station.
  • Children are invited to come and experience this exciting new way of learning.

Volunteer teachers (station masters) are asked to commit to a four week unit. Depending on the number of children involved, this usually means they will actually teach two out of the four weeks. Such a managable time commitment makes being involved in this life changing ministry something many people can readily enjoy.  And rotating from station to station helps children become eager to learn truths from the Bible.  Teachers quickly realize that they are cooperating with Jesus Christ to make a positive difference in the lives of children.

Mt. Nebo's Sunday School program, of which Rotation Station

is a part, is offered from 10:30-11:15 AM every Sunday.
